Swiss Benevolent Association Scholarship
The Swiss Benevolent Association of Greater Cincinnati offers tuition scholarships for undergraduate students of Swiss descent. These awards are designed to honor our heritage, support higher education, and encourage active involvement with the Association.
Eligibility Requirements
Must be a Swiss national with permanent U.S. residency (visa/green card) or of Swiss descent with proper documentation (family trees are not accepted).
Must be the child of parents who are members of the SBA.
Legal guardian(s) must live in one of the following counties:
Ohio: Hamilton, Butler, Clermont, Warren, Montgomery, Greene
Kentucky: Boone, Kenton, Gallatin, Campbell, Grant, Pendleton
Indiana: Dearborn, Franklin, Switzerland, Ripley, Decatur
Must attend college full-time (minimum 12 hours/semester). Proof of registration required.
Swiss students in the U.S. on tourist or student visas are not eligible.
Application Guidelines
Applicants must submit a written request (not bullet points) including:
Name of the attending school
Educational plans (major/field of study)
Expected graduation date
Annual tuition costs (tuition only)
Prior winners: A short update on your progress and gratitude for previous awards
Prior winners: Spring grades and fall schedule
Supporting Documents
First-year applicants: Copy of high school diploma or transcript
All applicants: Copy of class schedule
All applicants: Fall semester grades and spring semester schedule to qualify for second-semester award
Deadlines
Applications due by April 30 each year
Recipients notified by May 31
First semester award is presented at the Swiss National Day (August 1st) Celebration
Expectations
Students must apply every year
Students must attend at least one official SBA event each calendar year
